Opening Hours

Our planned opening hours for 2023 are as follows (the time shown is last admission, closing time is 1 hour later):

6th November – 23rd December 2023: 10am-3pm

24th December – 26th December 2023: Closed

27th December 2023 – 9th February 2024: 10am-3pm

Except for:

Sunday 31st December: 10am – 2pm

Monday 1st January: 11am-3pm

10th February – 18th February 2024: 10am-4pm

19th February – 22nd March 2024: 10am-3pm

23rd March – 14th April 2024: 10am-4pm

If you are booked into the last time slot, please arrive on time.

An admission ticket to Barley Hall allows the holder to unlimited FREE entry for 12 months from the date of purchase.

*Please be aware that children under the age of sixteen must be accompanied by an adult.

***Please be aware that if you would like to pay with Tesco Clubcard Partner codes please exchange your points for a Clubcard Partner code via your Tesco account. You will receive an email with QR codes. When you arrive, please have your Clubcard Partner code (QR code) ready for us to scan. We will then give you a paper ticket. Please note that Clubcard Partner codes can only be used for single attraction tickets, and are not valid for any discounted or joint tickets. However, you can use them for a family of 4 and a family of 5. Please visit the Tesco Clubcard FAQs page for more.

Concession rates apply to any student with a valid ID card, or for anyone aged 60 or over.

Pre-booking and refund policy

If you are not able to visit the attraction for your pre-booked slot we can re-book your visit for a more convenient time. We are not able to offer refunds.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can help us further by turning your donation into a Gift Aid donation at no extra cost to you, which allows us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you spend from the Government.

Your payment will be treated as an admission donation that entitles you and your family group to 12 months free admission from the date of payment.

Please note this only applies to individual and family tickets, not larger groups.

Discounts

We offer discounted tickets for NHS staff, members of the Armed Forces, carers and various other groups. Please note from 12th June, we are changing the way you pre-book with discounts, and you may no longer be able to book online.

Bags and Suitcases

The left luggage service is located on High Petergate, near to York Minster, and costs from £3. Take your pre-booked ticket for Barley Hall to get 20% off the price. You can find out more on the Yorbag website.
